A library catalogue people can actually search.

Willard Library came to us with a specification rather than a brief: a Joomla site carrying their own identity, and a way for patrons to search books, audiobooks and e-books that was easier than what they had.

The problem

A library catalogue lives in its own database, built for librarians and cataloguing standards rather than for someone who wants to know whether a title is in. Bolting a search box onto a website does nothing unless the box is wired into that catalogue, across every format the library lends.

What we built

We built the Joomla site to their signature design, working from their logo and colour palettes, then did the custom programming to connect the catalogue and its database to the search patrons use on the site. Books, audiobooks and e-books answer from one search rather than from three separate places.

What it did

A search that reaches the actual catalogue, so a patron finds out whether the library has the thing without learning how a library catalogue is organised.
