A back office built because nothing off the shelf could do it.
The Maury People is a high-end realty business on Nantucket, operating under Sotheby’s International Realty. They needed a back-end system for managing sales through their website, and nothing existing met the requirements.

The problem
High-end island realty runs two businesses at once: selling homes and renting them seasonally. The two have different enquiry paths, different availability logic and different buyers, and a single listing can belong to both. Off-the-shelf real estate software models one of those well and the other badly, which is why the requirement was a fully customised solution rather than a configuration.
What we built
We built the back office to their process rather than to a product’s assumptions, streamlining the sales workflow across both renting and selling. On the front, we built the complex search that a mixed sale-and-rental portfolio needs, and did the search engine optimisation, because a listing nobody finds is a listing nobody enquires on.
What it did
One system running both halves of the business, with search built for the way people actually look for a house on an island, and the SEO to bring them to it.
