Koaxis

Koaxis approached ‘corePHP’ with a request to build a custom web application for their Joomla website. The project’s goal was to help increase the sales of their products online, primarily through a system that allows clients to create the products they want and includes the ability to bid industry rates.

The cable building system was intended to replace Koaxis’ current system of employees working one-on-one with each customer to understand, design, and quote the exact cable they needed. An upgrade was necessary to escape the bottleneck of working individually with each client and bridge the gap between what the customer was asking for and what they wanted.

The web application solution we designed and built is equally based on highly technical customer requirements and interactive visuals that build the cable as the customer chooses each of their many options. Our approach allows the customer to create the product they want regardless of whether it’s standard or has never been requested before.

The customer can then add that product to the shopping cart, automatically triggering the creation of a new, indexable page for search engines. We tied the customization system into creating pages this way so organically created new pages grow our client’s digital footprint, in turn continually increasing the search engine optimization (SEO) value of their website.

We worked with the client for 300+ hours on the initial planning of the content and mapping of the functionality of the application. The client spent ~$150,000 on the project plus marketing and saw a massive return on investment: new online ordering increased 200% in their first year of using the new system. Each year they invest more into both system improvements and additional marketing and are doubling their ROI.

This was a highly technical project requiring a high degree of communication to transform their existing, back-end, manual system into a user-friendly, front-end interface.
