WordPress is such a useful web application, that gets used for more than just websites. By activating certain themes and plugins, a person can instantly transform a website into something so much more. For instance, WooThemes uses WordPress for their internal communication by sing the P2 theme. Doing this provides the company with a way to log communications in one location and have access to real-time discussions.
At Photocrati, we use WordPress for more than just development. We also use it to track internal meeting notes, and business related tasks like that.
So where does a person go when they’re looking to do something more with their WordPress website?
Blogging Pro is just one of the many websites that provide valuable WordPress information. For example if you are looking for a way to simplify WordPress for clients, then look no further. Need a WordPress cheat sheet? Here are 10 that can be very useful for you.
Of course, there are many other resources around. Each provide their own value to the WordPress community and should also be bookmarked. WP Beginner, WP Mayor and WP Candy are three of my personal favorites.
Now, if you are looking for something extremely specific, for instance WordPress portfolio themes, then it’s worth doing a Google search for them. Because the majority of WordPress resource websites are organize articles into more general categories. That’s not a bad thing of course – just keeps things organized. There are a lot of templates out there, many free and many paid so what better way than doing a search for your specific question and finding a list of the best out there.
Another way would be to visit the WordPress theme and plugin directories and doing searches there. WordPress has a great filtering tool to search for specific tags associated with themes, so you can narrow down to color, width and more.
With all that said, I keep WP Beginner in my RSS subscriptions because the website provides much more than just WordPress advice. They provide tips for novice users and advanced users, and often share screenshots and videos to elaborate on the text content.
So as you can see, there are many places to get your WordPress fix, and at the end of the day it comes down to the quality of the content you find. WP Beginner is one of the best in my opinion, and not just for their WordPress text content.
